Obituary of Calley Jo Davis

Calley Jo Shartzer-Davis, 42 of Nampa, passed away on February 11, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born to Blake L. Bivins and Teresa A. (Yoctorowic) Bivins on April 2, 1979. She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Gladys McKelvy of New Plymouth, Idaho and her maternal grandfather, Edward (Ben) B. Yoctorowic of New Plymouth, Idaho. Calley Jo started school in New Plymouth but graduated from Middleton High School in 1997. She married David Shartzer in 2001. They began their lives together and settled in the Canyon County area where they started their family. Even though Calley and David were divorced in 2014, they remained close friends and co-parents until Calley's death. David will be the first to tell you what an amazing mother she was to her boys. There is nothing in this world that mattered more to her than making sure her boys always had what they needed or wanted. When she became a mother, she did it with every fiber of her being and was envied by many at her ability to always make sure things worked out in the best interest of her kids. Calley was the biological and stepmother to four boys, Korey, Kaleb, Morgan, and Tucker. She was also the surrogate mother/daycare provider to dozens of other children throughout her short life. For the majority of Calley's adult life, she owned and operated a home-based daycare so she was always able to be a stay-at-home mother to her own children and provide them with all the love, affection, and encouragement they could ever need. Calley loved kids and kids loved her. Calley was one of the most caring, selfless, and generous people you could imagine. She would give anyone anything they needed, even if it meant she had to go without. She would do it without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. Some would say that she was generous and forgiving to a fault. There are many people who will now be without their friend and confidant; they will feel and mourn her loss deeply in the weeks, months, and years to come, especially her precious boys and her parents. In her spare time, when she had some, she enjoyed camping, jet-skiing, four-wheeling and even dabbled in riding horses some in recent years. Spare time is a relative term as Calley rarely had any time to herself as she was constantly doing things for everyone around her and trying to make sure that everyone else had what they needed and wanted. There simply is no way to adequately describe the depth of her generous spirit. Calley leaves behind a plethora of people who loved and admired her grit and determination to make a comfortable life for her boys. She is survived by her sons, Korey, Kaleb, Morgan and Tucker, her lifetime friend and Co-parent, David Shartzer, her mother, Teresa A. Yoctorowic, her father, Blake L. Bivins, her sister, Stephanie D. Brannan, her maternal grandmother, Faye D. Yoctorowic and many, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family asks in lieu of flowers, that donations in Calley's memory be made to U.S. Bank in Nampa, Idaho in the name of Kaleb Shartzer, Calley's son.
