Obituary of Carl Cecil Marshall

On the afternoon of Friday, November 5th, 2021 heaven gained an angel, but the world lost an amazing man. The lucky ones called him friend, but the truly blessed called him husband, dad, or grandpa. Carl Cecil Marshall was born Dec. 27th, 1951 to Georgia and Clarence Marshall in Yuma, Arizona. He was the 3rd of 7 children. Carl's adventurous and determined spirit led him across the United States from NC to CA, as a teenager. It would be there he would meet the love of his life. Carl and Eva were married at the young ages of 19 and 16 and spent everyday since as husband and wife, and best friends. Their journey would eventually find them putting down roots in Payette, ID, where they have lived for the last 43 years and where they raised 2 children, Gary and Cindy. Carl had many jobs throughout his lifetime, but none quite as fulfilling as the last 20 years he spent owning and operating his own truck. Carl and Eva took great pride in their work, driving as a team from Washington to Texas each week. They drove over three million miles together and could be seen by many traveling across the west the in their patriotic 18 wheeler. Carl was so proud to honor the men and women who serve our country with a beautiful memorial painted and displayed on his truck and trailer. Carl was as an avid outdoorsman and he shared his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. There was nowhere he would rather be than in the mountains, spending time with his family and friends. Family was everything to Carl and Eva. They cultivated a life together that always put family first, which extended to the many friends he considered family as well. He loved gathering friends and family together to celebrate for any reason. His epic 4th of July parties were a testament to his love of those gatherings, if measured in the amount of fireworks he would buy for the celebration! Nothing mattered more to Carl than his grandchildren; Cameron, Bryce, Brianna, Jack, and Brenett were the light of his life, and his legacy will live on through each of them. He was a great dad, but his grandpa skills were off the charts. Carl will be remembered as a kind and generous man who knew no stranger. He was always the first to offer a helping hand and gladly gave his last dollar to help someone in need. Carl was an amazing man with a huge heart, and he will be missed greatly by everyone whose life he touched. He leaves behind a legacy we should all strive to follow; to make everyone feel like a friend or family, to lend a helping hand when we see someone in need, and to never allow a loved one to struggle if you have the means to make their life just a little bit better. He is survived by his wife, Eva Marshall, children: Gary (Jennifer) Marshall, Cindy (Chris) Burke, grandchildren: Cameron (Morgan) Burke, Jack Burke, Bryce Marshall, Brianna Marshall, and Brenett Marshall Service Details.
